Setting
The book monster takes place in present day to be exact it mostly takes place between 1981 and 1992. They are in south central L.A. They live in da hood so dey alot of shottings and many people die. monster has been in jail many times and the in the book he is in the book almost a fourth of the time.

This is a good start. I am really interested in what South Central L.A. is like. Who lives there? Is it run down? Was it nice in the past? Also, I am curious about the time period; what is going on in the country at this time? How do all of these things effect the characters?
